Description
Poseidon or Neptuno, was the god of the sea, and, as "Earth-Shaker," of the earthquakes in Greek mythology, being the middle brother of the gods Zeus and Hades. In his benign aspect, Poseidon was seen as creating new islands and offering calm seas. When offended or ignored, he supposedly struck the ground with his trident and caused chaotic springs, earthquakes, drownings and shipwrecks. Sailors prayed to Poseidon for a safe voyage.
In the film he was present for the party celebrating the arrival of Zeus and Hera's newborn child Hercules. Years later Poseidon and his fellow Gods are imprisoned by Hades and the Titans, luckily he and the other Gods were freed by an adult Hercules. Despite his small role in the film, in the animated series he played a much more larger role where he would often appear in either a cameo or as a major part of the plot.

You know, in the case of a crossover between "Hercules" and "The Little Mermaid", I can't stop wondering if Hercules and Ariel would be "cousins". Pretty sure for all the inhabitants of Atlantica, Poseidon if their God.
