Iapetus

Titan of mortality and crafts, after the fall of Uranus, he was responsible for the western part of the mythological world of the golden age, was considered by the Greeks as the ancestor of the human race. Iapetus was considered the god of the duration of mortal life.

In fact, two of his sons, Prometheus and Epimetheus were represented as creators of mankind and other deadly creatures of the golden age.

Led by Kronos, Iapetus and his brothers conspired against their father, Uranus preparing an ambush while he went to the trap of Gaia. The four brothers overpowered Uranus, by holding each of its corners, Iapetus who was subject tackles the Western part of the sky, while Cronus castrated his father with a sickle.

Following the defeat of Uranus, Iapetus took to wife his niece Klymene, daughter of Oceanus, and fruit of their love, Klymene, gave birth to Prometheus, Atlas, Epimetheus and Menoitios, creators of the human race. And as a lover, his sister Themis.

Iapetus fight in the war against the Olympians, but were defeated and subsequently imprisoned in Tartarus with the rest of their brothers for eternity. But it is believed that Zeus would free mercy eons later.

Iapetus, one of the brothers was closest to Cronos, and the only one really believed that combat the Olympians, was a good idea, despite support and overlap at Cronos in all, not think it was the right thing getting rid of their children at birth, that could be revealed in revenge, so the care and educate their own children until they were adults.

Although I was not too happy about the human personalities of their children, as Prometheus was too cunning and tricky, Epimetheus was a complete idiot, Atlas was very bold and carefree, and Menoitos was very angry and confrontational., Attributes that were later inherited by humans, creating the sons of Iapetus.

In the fight against the Olympians, he was the only support Cronos, as the other Titans did not want to participate, to by Coeus was not a very smart idea to Hyperion was not right, and Críos thought it was not necessary, but they were intimidated by Cronos to fight in his favor, including the children of each titan. They were eventually defeated, and sent to Tartarus, where they are prisoners forever.

Titán de la mortalidad y las artesanías, tras la caída de Urano, él fue el gobernante de la parte Oeste del mundo mitológico de la edad dorada, fue considerado por los griegos como el ancestro de la raza humana. Japeto fue considerado como el dios de la duración de la vida mortal.

De hecho, dos de sus hijos:  Prometeo y Epimeteo han estado representados de los creadores de la humanidad y otras criaturas mortales de la edad dorada.

Liderados por Cronos, Iapetos y sus hermanos conspiraron contra su padre, preparando una emboscada mientras Urano acudía a la trampa de Gea. Los cuatro hermanos inmovilizaron a Urano, sujetándolo por cada una de sus esquinas, Japeto fue quien sujeto con fuerza la parte Oeste del cielo, mientras Cronos castraba a su padre con la Hoz.

Posteriormente a la derrota de Urano, Japeto tomo como esposa a su sobrina: Klymene,  hija de Oceanus, y fruto de su amor, Klymene dio a luz a Prometeo, Atlas, Epimeteo y Menoitios, los creadores de la raza humana. Y como amante, a su hermana Themis.

Japeto lucho en la guerra contra los olímpicos, pero fueron derrotados y posteriormente encerrado en el Tartaro con el resto de sus hermanos varones por toda la eternidad. Pero se cree, que Zeus los liberaría por piedad muchos eones después.

Japeto, fue uno de los hermanos más allegados a Cronos, y el único que realmente creía que luchar contra los Olímpicos, era una buena idea, a pesar de apoyar y solapar a Cronos en todo, el no creía que fuera lo correcto deshacerse de sus hijos al momento de nacer, por que podían revelarse en venganza, por lo que el cuido y educo a sus propios hijos hasta que estos fueron adultos.

Aunque no estaba muy feliz por las personalidades humanas de sus hijos, pues Prometeo era demasiado astuto y tramposo, Epimeteo  era un completo idiota, Atlas era muy atrevido y despreocupado, y  Menoitos era muy colérico y conflictivo., atributos que fueron posteriormente heredados por los humanos, creación de los hijos de Japeto.

En la lucha contra los olímpicos, él fue el único que apoyo a Cronos, pues los otros titanes no querían participar, para Ceo no era una idea muy inteligente,  para Hyperion no era correcto, y para Crío no era necesario, pero todos fueron intimidados por Cronos para luchar a su favor, incluidos los hijos de cada titán. Al final fueron derrotados, y enviados al Tartaro, lugar en el que se encuentran prisioneros para siempre.

Como deidad de la mortalidad, era su deber asignar la cantidad de tiempo que cada criatura viva, podía vivir, los humanos de la edad dorada (periodo en que los titanes gobernaban), podían vivir muchos siglos sin envejecer, Japeto también podían inmortalizar seres humanos, pero después de la caída de los titanes, los humanos se vieron afectados notablemente, pues ahora vivirían menos de un siglo, y la vejez llegaría más rápido a decaer su cuerpo. Al ser también el dios de la artesanía, él fue el que aconsejo a Prometeo, el hacer a los humanos, de arcilla y metales precioso.

Como deidad, goza de inmortalidad y súper fuerza, puede hacer magia muy poderosa, pero la omnipresencia se le fue retirada por Zeus, para que no pudiese escapar del Tártaro.
